How it Started

This journey actually began about 1.5 years ago, backstage at Luminosity Beach Festival. Cari and I were chatting, and the idea of a collaboration came up. Nothing too serious at first — just one of those, “Yeah, we should definitely do something together” moments.

But when I eventually received the first idea from her, everything changed.
I was genuinely blown away by the lyrics and the chords she sent over. They had emotion, honesty, and that kind of melodic bite that instantly pulls you in. It was obvious this wasn’t just another vocal; it was something special.

 If you listen to vocal trance, you already know how powerful and instantly recognisable her voice is. She’s worked with some huge names over the years — including Armin van Buuren, Craig Connelly - and I’ve always admired the honesty in her writing.

The Story in the Song

Cari wrote about believing in your own strength and the courage to chase what matters. It resonated with me straight away, and I built the production around that feeling — punchy, uplifting, with space for her voice to shine.

One moment that really hit home was hearing Solarstone play the track on his Pure Trance Radio show and call it a “Big Tune.”

He doesn’t usually sign vocal tracks — he’s said many don’t reach the level he looks for — so hearing him describe this one as an amazing vocal record meant a lot. Massive respect. 

Why This Release Means Something

Chasing Butterflies represents patience, growth, and trusting the process. From a backstage chat at Luminosity to finally releasing it on Pure Trance NEON, it’s been quite a journey.
